About Us

Based in the UK, we are a group of volunteers who work closely with two Ugandan based organisations - Christ's heart Children's orphanage in Kampala and Home Of Peace in Jinja.

Hopeful Ugandan Hearts was founded with the vision of improving the lives of children in Uganda. We believe that every child deserves access to basic necessities such as food, healthcare, and education. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to provide support to underprivileged children, enabling them to break the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future.

Our Trustees

Lina Greig
Originally from Colombia, Lina has lived in the UK for over twenty years. Growing up in Colombia she was exposed to social inequality and poverty on a daily basis. It has always been her ambition to help children living in vulnerable situations and conditions.

Lina is instrumental in organising the fundraising actitivities and when not busy putting events together, she can be seen leading the regular fundraising Zumbathons.

Stephanie Agier-Garcia
Steph is originally from France and now lives in the UK. Considering herself fortunate to have been born in Europe, from an early age she was acutely aware that Europe's prosperity was often at the expense of other countries and people.

With over 30 years of experience in education and childcare, she's had the privilege of witnessing the diversity of human experience first-hand.

From a young age, her curiosity about other cultures led her to explore various continents where she experienced the diverse cultures and saw first hand the socio-economic divides that exist in many countries.

Determined to make a difference, she believes stongly that proactive measures are essential in the quest to restore balance and seek an equitable world.

Steph is the driving force behind our quest to become a registered charity and create a vehicle with which much needed funds can be raised in order to effect positive change for Ugandan Children.

Monica Hogg
Similar to Lina, Monica is also originally from Colombia and has been living in the UK for over twenty years.

Active with a number of charities supporting refugees and the homeless, Monica became involved in helping Ugandan Children through a Facebook contact based in the USA who, along with her church group had been raising money to support the children.

Joining forces with Lina and Steph to create Hopeful Ugandan Hearts provides a structure around fundraising activities where money raised can be used both proactively and reactively to address the immediate needs of the children and hopefully put in place long-term projects to give the children the best opportunities for the future.
